the best hugs
shared by brianna wolf, business school friend
Anaal and I developed a signature hugging style. It was long and drawn out. It had movement and squeals. It wasn’t loose or constricting, but just the right level of tight. We luxuriated in our hugs. They were the maximum physical expression of our love for one another and made us feel so grounded and secure. We had to say lots of goodbyes during the years of living in different places but the hugs made it okay. My last in-person memory of Anaal is a goodbye hug on the drop-off curb at the Reno-Tahoe Airport in November 2018. She was catching a flight to Paris. I wish it wasn’t already so long ago.
